Information Session For Puppy Development – Hobart
February 12 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm| Free
Attend the next Hobart Information Session and change lives…
…including your own
You can raise a future hero and change the life of a Tasmanian by attending the next Information Session for Puppy Development in Hobart.
Guide Dogs Tasmania is looking for volunteers within a 30km radius of Hobart CBD to care for our pups on both a long-term (18-24 months) and short term basis.
As a long-term Puppy Raiser, some of the things you will be required to do with the pup in your care include socialising them, walking them, showing them the basics of right from wrong, and working with us to give these little ones the best chance possible of becoming a hero for a Tasmanian who is blind of vision impaired.
As a shorter-term Boarder, it is still essential that you learn about caring for a Guide Dog pup. However, this role is suitable for anyone who requires more flexibility with when and how often they can care for a pup.
This free information session will give you enough details to make a decision about whether to apply to become a Puppy Raiser or Boarder. There is lots of time for Q&A and, yes, we do discuss “how could I possibly give it back?”. Following the session, if you believe you meet the criteria and would like to join our Puppy Development Team, a home interview and assessment will be arranged.
Puppy Raising is a special, social, very highly regarded role in the community, and through the process of Puppy Raising or Boarding you’ll learn a great deal about vision impairment, dogs and yourself.
