If you are involved in a business and would like to show your customers or clients that you support Guide Dogs Tasmania, maybe you’d like to Join the Stay Club, too!
Businesses* can show their support for Guide Dogs Tasmania by allocating a small amount of bench space or floor space to one of our iconic Collection Dogs. These dog-shaped money boxes have been a significant part of our fundraising activities for many years, and we affectionately call each money box “Stay”.
Stay comes in two sizes, Mini and Model. You see mini dogs on many shop counters around the state, and you’ve seen kids hug the model dogs in supermarkets, airports and larger department stores. We look after them and the public feeds them with loose change.
The Collection Dog program is simple:
- Put Stay somewhere your customers can see and reach it, in order to throw their loose change in it.
- Guide Dogs Tasmania will add your business to our list, and organise for the regular emptying of Stay.
- Give Stay a long and happy home, and let Guide Dogs Tasmania know if anything goes wrong.
Read the flyer for more details: Join the Stay Club , or call 1800 484 333 during business hours and we’ll get your very own Stay to you as soon as possible.
*Stay is reserved solely for businesses; Guide Dogs Tasmania does not provide Collection Dogs to individuals. Puppy Banks are available for individuals, families, school groups, clubs etc.
Stay’s Tour of Tassie has started! Why not join in?
Our iconic collection dog, Stay, would really like to spend time in businesses that don’t ordinarily have a small collection dog, and he’s keen to focus on the Launceston area first.
It is our hope that Stay’s month-long promotional visits will raise awareness of how Guide Dogs Tasmania supports blind and vision impaired Tasmanians, and assists them to lead full and independent lives. This can only be achieved through the generosity the Tasmanian community including local businesses. We are hoping that many of our local businesses will in fact be happy to jump on the bandwagon and donate a small piece of floor space for Stay and his banner to sit during the month.
Ideally, you would have staff and/or customers walking past him regularly during the day, and we’d need to make sure that he was safe and secure so ‘Stay’ doesn’t become ‘Stray’!
If you know of a business that would be happy to have Stay visit them for a month, then please phone 1800 484 333 and ask for the Collection Dogs coordinator.
