“Dear friend of Guide Dogs Tasmania,
Please enjoy the very first edition of ‘The Guide’. This publication places our beautiful dogs front and center. I find stories about our dogs inspiring, and I hope that through ‘The Guide’ you are inspired also. The Guide – Autumn 2017
In this edition we cover our first ever formal Guide Dog Graduation ceremony; we’re excited to be celebrating the 60th Anniversary of Guide Dogs; we’re interested in hearing from Tasmanians who might need a Companion Dog; and we introduce Roberta, who’s making a real difference for us as a volunteer.
In our first edition we also feature a story by Paul Watkins, a Guide Dog user from Hobart. You’ll read how, with Guide Dog Holly, her windstorm tail-wag and a ‘practice makes perfect’ approach, Paul is maintaining his freedom and independence.
Our goal is to change lives with our dogs. We’re achieving that with Paul and Holly.
Can you support us to do the same for all Tasmanians who rely on our services? So they can maintain their freedom and independence with a Guide Dog, too? You can donate online today, and help us reach our goal, so our clients can reach theirs.
Do you want to know more about our vision for independence? By joining our eNewsletter options, we can share stories, change perspectives and take you on more journeys of independence.
We encourage all of our clients, particularly, to join the VisAbility eNews.

Enjoy the first edition of ‘The Guide’. And, thank you for supporting our important work in Tasmania, for Tasmanians.
