President’s Christmas Message

To all supporters of Guide Dogs Tasmania

Sitting down and reflecting on the year of 2014 that is nearly past us, I am truly excited that we again have a lot to be proud of, in terms of our team achievements at Guide Dogs Tasmania. Put simply… without our many supporters, donors, and volunteers, we could not have achieved so much this year without your continued support.

In particular, I would like to pay my respects and express the sincere gratitude of the Board to those people who chose to honour our organisation by leaving a gift through their Estate. These, often substantial, gifts guarantee the continued success of the organisation.

I appreciate that you don’t do it for the recognition, but I believe we periodically need to positively reflect on the integral part all of our supporters, financial and physical, play in enabling Guide Dogs Tasmania to improve the safety, independence and quality of life for Tasmanians who are blind or vision impaired.

We look forward to 2015 and commencing the Hobart office refurbishment, which was approved by the Board during the year. This is an important step that confirms our commitment to the Elizabeth Street premises in Hobart.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, I:

  • wish you and your families a safe Christmas and festive season;
  • thank you for this year’s efforts, contributions and support; and
  • look forward to working with you all again in 2015.

David Howie
