International Guide Dog Day – 29 April 2026
International Guide Dog Day is a special occasion when communities worldwide celebrate the incredible role guide dogs play in the lives of people living with low or no vision, disability, or illness. These amazing dogs bring hope, freedom, and independence, transforming lives in extraordinary ways.
This year, we’ll be out and about in our communities sharing stories, celebrating our newest Guide Dog hopefuls, and showing just how much difference these dogs make. Stay tuned for ways you can get involved – whether it’s joining us on the day, volunteering, or supporting our work through donations.
How can you lend a paw?
We are now taking expressions of interest for event day volunteers at our sites in Civic Square, Launceston and Elizabeth St Mall, Hobart.
