Last week, our Community Engagement team, including special guest Cydee the Ambassador Dog, had the absolute pleasure of visiting some of our most dedicated fundraising partners in northern Tasmania. They stopped in at Coles Newstead, Nuts and Bolts Tasmania, and IGA Newnham to personally thank the wonderful teams who help make our work possible.
While many people know us through the iconic Collection Dogs that have been part of our story for years, it’s the people behind them – the staff, customers, and broader community – who truly make our work possible.
The Power of Community Fundraising
Our Collection Dogs have long been a friendly reminder of the impact small acts of generosity can make. But behind every coin and every contribution is a community choosing to support Tasmanians living with low vision, disability, or illness.
As we gradually retire our Collection Dogs, we’re excited to grow something even more powerful – Community-led fundraising.
From morning teas and workplace challenges to school activities and creative personal projects, community fundraising gives Tasmanians the chance to make a direct and lasting difference in ways that are fun and personalised.
Every fundraising effort, big or small, helps us train and support life-changing Guide Dogs, Autism Assistance Dogs, Facility Dogs, and Companion Dogs.
If you’d like to start your own activity or get inspired, you can explore ideas here.
A Heartfelt Thank You
To the teams at Coles Newstead, Nuts and Bolts Tasmania, and IGA Newnham: thank you. Your ongoing support, whether through hosting a Collection Dog or championing other fundraising efforts, plays an enormous role in helping Tasmanians access the assistance they need.
To all our supporters across the state – your generosity shapes lives. Every fundraiser you host, every workplace you involve, and every creative idea you bring to life helps create brighter futures for people who rely on our dogs.
We are so grateful for this community and the many ways you choose to stand beside us.
