VisAbility Ltd (owner and operator of Guide Dogs Tasmania) supports the Australian government’s COVID-19 vaccination program and is staying up-to-date with the latest program information released by the Australian Department of Health.
We will be supporting our clients, their families and everyone in the Guide Dogs Tasmania community throughout the vaccination program rollout.
Guide Dogs Tasmania staff and certain groups of clients will be eligible for vaccination stage 1b, which is expected to be rolled out from mid-March.
We encourage all clients and the community to visit the government’s COVID-19 vaccination online resources to keep themselves up to date. There is a lot of really useful information on these sites.
Through these resources you can learn more about the priority rollout, preparing to receive the vaccination, information for people with disability, and you can also access the vaccination eligibility checker.
The Department of Health has also published a decision guide to help people who are frail or very old, including those living in residential aged care facilities and their representatives, make an informed decision about getting a COVID-19 vaccine.
We will be regularly monitoring these resources and will let you know when they have been updated at the start of Phase 1b.
If you have queries or concerns please contact us so we can help you access the latest information for your circumstances.
Let’s support each other and stay safe as we take this positive step towards alleviating the coronavirus pandemic.
