This week is National Volunteers week, and what better time to talk about all the wonderful ways our volunteers help us throughout the year! Today, we’d like to highlight a very special volunteer and her varied and valuable contributions to our cause. Long-time Puppy Raiser Lindy went above and beyond to organise a Music Bingo Fundraising Event – Grooving for Guide Dogs – at the Australian Italian Club in Launceston.
Grooving Together
In cooperation with The Trivia People, and hosted by the Mistress of Mayhem herself, the night was filled out with raffles, games, and a silent auction.
But of course, Lindy and her team of volunteers couldn’t have done it alone! Businesses across the north leapt at the chance to get involved, donating prizes, decorations, and more to make sure the night was a roaring success.
A big thankyou to Little Confetti Wonders for their beautiful balloon setup, as well as Australian Italian Club, Launceston for providing a fantastic venue for Lindy and her team! A full list of all businesses who donated to this event can be found at the bottom of this article.
A massive thanks to everyone who got involved, whether through donating their time, money, or both. Thanks to all of your amazing efforts, we managed to raise over $13,000 on the night! That’s an absolutely amazing achievement.
A Few Photos from the Night
We have a lot of great memories from the night, and it was hard to pick just a few photos to share, but decisions had to be made! If you came along, we’re sure you’ll recognise a few familiar faces, and if not, have a look at all the fun you missed out (and maybe keep an ear out just in case…)

One final thankyou to all the organisations listed above, and of course the woman who brought it all together, Lindy, and her amazing team of volunteers, without whom this event never could have happened. As a little fun fact, did you know that Lindy walked over 14km on Saturday, getting everything pulled together? Thanks around 20,000 steps for an average adult.
